DISTRIBUTION COSTS
At Mile Digital, we understand how tough it is in the music industry and want our artists to succeed! Which is why, unlike many other distributers, we don’t have any hidden start up, uploading, or storage costs. We simply take a small admin fee to cover the sorting of streams and downloads, which means you keep 85% of your revenue and royalties.
MONTHLY PAYOUTS AND REVENUE REPORTS
- As soon as people begin downloading and enjoying your music, if you like we can provide quarterly reports detailing all your sales and streams.
- Paying out: We keep track and account of everything, and we begin giving you your money as soon as you reach £100 each month.
- With your reports we can make them as detailed or simple as you wish. Some people like to see just the total and that’s it, whilst others like all details, for example they want to see how many people streamed their tunes in Peru on Spotify or bought their EP in Russia on iTunes… the potential is infinite.
PUBLISHING ADVICE & INFORMATION
We would be happy to share our extensive knowledge of publishing, royalties, and other related topics with you, as a result of our teams’ many years of multi-layered expertise in the field.
We have recently set up a publishing company so if this is something you’re interested in please do ask.
We can offer you lots of guidance and lead you in the correct path, but we are unable to create PRS accounts (assuming you haven’t already registered). Having an account is always advised, as there is no other method for you to get your music royalties!
YOUR LABEL
We frequently get asked this question from new and future artists: “Do we need to be signed to a label before thinking about distribution?” The short answer is no. “YOUR LABEL” gives you full control and command of your own music and that you choose the optimal time to release it. When you have a specific date in mind, that’s where we can come in and help.
CLIENT SUPPORT
You will be paired with a member of our amazing staff as soon as you sign up to us, and we will do our best to match them with your musical needs. Given the diversity of our team, we like to assume that we have a member for every kind of music.
Our hardworking and friendly team will be available to always assist you with any inquiry and will get back to you within 24 hours. Knowing that they have years of experience in the music industry from working in accounting, law, publishing, and with recording artists like yourself, you can be sure that you are in good hands.
GENRES
At Mile Digital Distribution, we love listening to all genres of music. Our registered artists who are part of the Mile Digital family specialise in multiple genres of music including:
- Indie
- Rap / HipHop
- Classical
- Acoustic
- Lo-fi / Ambient
Plus, more.
UPC / ISRC CODE ASSIGNMENT
UPC (barcode) is a term for “Universal Product Code”. It’s a special code that’s meant to identify your product, such an album or single. Essentially, the barcode is used to track your sales whether you are selling your CD in a store or through online digital platforms such as Spotify and other online retailers.
ISRC Codes: Similar to a UPC Code, sound and music video recordings can be uniquely identified using the International Standard Recording Code (ISRC). As a type of digital fingerprint, each ISRC code uniquely identifies a particular recording and can be permanently embedded into a single or album.
Do not worry if you haven’t signed up for them; we have the tools to assign your music all the required barcodes (UPCs) and ISRCs at no extra cost.
